This year I had the most fun working with Caribbean African Student Association of Bishop’s University for an annual culture show. The theme of this year was ‘Discover the Caribbean.’ I feel an intangible connection with these students and look forward to collaborating with them in any way. This year, with the incredible efforts of the organizing team, the association was able to collect an amount of $1000 which was donated to K1 Britannia Foundation’s Fund for hurricane relief in St. Maarten.
For me this was a special event of the year as the people who are a part of CASA feel like family. Perhaps its the displaced foreigners relating to each other, or maybe its their infectious joie-de-vivre. All I know is that there is a joy in capturing the spirit of people who bring a smile to your face, even as you are squinting behind the lens. That is when I am the happiest, seeing the world through a magic box I call my camera.
